The Daily Athenaeum covered Twitter today talking to several people on campus about it. It’s great to see it’s starting to catch on here. One thing they did not mention was that in addition to individual users here on campus, you can follow WVU itself, the Davis College of Forestry, Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, and of course OIT. WVU has also been covering major events with a blog/twitter hybrid initiative coming out of Web Services (eg. Presidential Inaguration, etc.)
I know there are other schools, units, departments, etc. using Twitter. Post a comment if you know of one so we can follow them too!

I’ve seen an article somewhere talking about schools in the US of A using Twitter in the classroom because there are students who are too embarrassed to talk infront of what 80 people? So what they do is post a Tweet and that’s it!
I think it’s excellent in learning and should be used in all schools.

We’ve been using Twitter quite a bit at Penn State as well. My group, Education Technology Services has an account … as well as nearly our entire staff. PSU itself tweets the Penn State Live stories. Here a couple:

Very cool to see this catching on in higher education.
