Google presented Gmail users with a nice surprise yesterday with the introduction of Gmail Themes. I am still on the fence personally about whether or not I *want* a different theme, but this enhancement to the Gmail service seems long overdue.

XMind is a great mind-mapping app that just went Open Source. It was a $299 purchase. The company loosed this version to the public as it concentrates on a more robust version (XMind Pro), plus a suite of pay services to enhance higher-level uses of the technology.
