Looking forward to the WV Higher Ed. Technology Conference

If you are planning on attending the WV Higher Education Technology Conference Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2008 at Lakeview you should head on over to the conference website and register.  The presenters have been notified and the program is live.  I’m looking forward to it.

WVU has several presentations in the mix and I think it’ll be a great conference.

The latest info from the conference committee was released today:

2008 West Virginia Higher Education Technology Conference Schedule Available

The presentation schedule for the West Virginia Higher Education Technology Conference, including pre- and post-conference tutorials is now available online at http://wvconference.com. The conference theme, “Technology in Higher Education: Challenges, Strategies, Innovations” brings together educators and IT professionals from all over West Virginia to discuss the latest in technology and the future of education.

Concurrent sessions are divided into five tracks and include:

  • Higher Education Partners – K12 and State Government
  • Campus Technologies for Systems, Support and Infrastructures
  • Higher Education Technology for Teaching and Learning
  • Leadership and Organizational Technology Related Issues
  • Technology for Student Services and Vendor Presentations

Pre- and post-conference tutorials include:

  • Cascading Style Sheets
  • Teaching with Open Source Course Management Software–SAKAI
  • Creating Online Tutorials with Adobe Captivate
  • Vista–More Than Just an Operating System!

Keynote speakers include Mark Greenfield, Director of Web Services at the University of Buffalo and Dr. Malcolm Lane, Professor and Department Head of Computer Science at James Madison University.

The conference is scheduled for September 29 – October 1, 2008 at the Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa in Morgantown, West Virginia. Register today to attend the conference. Early registration for the West Virginia Higher Education Technology Conference ends August 29.

You guys need more staff. I was on hold for, oh, 5 minutes when I called yesterday. I finally gave up.

This will be my first time attending, but I heard it was a great conference to attend.

BTW – Mark Greenfield is a fantastic speaker. I’ve seen his presentations twice at the annual HighEdWebDev (http://highedwebdev.org/2008) conference and the room is always packed.
